The Hawai’i Marlin Tournament Series’ Lure Makers Challenge Tournament was held in Kona on July 14-16 2017. The tournament structure allowed the fifteen competing boats to represent a lure maker of their choice. TANTRUM Lures was fortunate enough to be represented by Pursuit with Captain Jason Holtz, deckhands Nick Durham and Ryan O’halloran, and angler Jay Edwards.
The Pursuit team won the tournament with the most points from six tagged blue marlin from seven bites as well as a non-qualifying yellow fin tuna. The victory earned the team a pay out of USD$46k. Three out of the six blue marlin were caught on the XL Plunger one each on the Large Tube, Large Bandit and Large AMN.

To top it off, the Pursuit crew followed up their tournament victory with the release of a fat 650lb blue marlin the following day!
